Law Firm Partner / Practice Placement

Chambers O'Brien Legal Search - Contact Us

Not every attorney is afforded the opportunity to become a partner at a law firm. Making partner is a big deal. If you have I congratulate you. It took hard work and dedication to achieve that level of success.

Unfortunately, making partner does not always guaranty that you are completely satisfied with the state of your practice or current firm.

Law firm partners move their practices to new firms for various reasons. Sometimes it’s as simple as increased compensation and incentives or an improved work/life balance. Perhaps moving to a larger firm could afford the partner opportunities to further grow their practice. Conversely, moving to a smaller firm may benefit the partner’s practice by keeping their clients happy by having lower hourly rates. There are also more complicated reasons as well such as firm direction, politics, or personal conflicts.

Regardless of the reason (or reasons) you may be considering moving your practice to a new firm, using an intermediary to find opportunities that align with your goals and keeping your search confidential will be critical to your success.
