If after reading this FAQ page you still have questions or would like to schedule a confidential conversation, call or complete the contact form below.
It’s a service we provide to successful law firm partners or practice groups interested in making a lateral move to a new firm. We confidentially market the partner and their practice to potentially interested firms without compromising the partner’s identity.
Here are two questions you should ask yourself. Are you content at your current firm? Is the income you’re earning from your practice meeting or exceeding your expectations?
If you answered “yes” to both of these questions, consider yourself fortunate. If you answered “no” to even one of these questions, however, perhaps it’s time to have conversations with other firms. We can confidentially facilitate those conversations for you.
There are three primary reasons.
If you have continued to read up to this point, our best guess is that you have at the very least thought about moving your practice to different firm at one time or another. If that’s the case, our advice would be to keep your thoughts and new firm search extremely confidential. How you do that is the conundrum.
Once you begin to put yourself out there publicly to locate potentially interested firms—you’re identified. How do you avoid being identified? The answer is to work with a third party that knows the ins and outs of confidential placement services.
You need a professional to market you and the value your practice brings to the table while keeping your identity private. We can generate interest in you and your practice without anyone being able to guess who you are. You decide when and with whom you wish to be identified or meet —not us.
If you join a firm we introduce you to, we are compensated by the new firm. There is never a cost for the services we provide to the attorneys we represent.
If we agree to work together, we will need to learn about you, your practice, and what would be most important to you if you were to change firms.
Once you share the basic information we require, a carefully crafted marketing pitch is created about you and your practice that can in no way identify you. We will even share that pitch with you before the commencement of our placement campaign if you wish. At that point, we go to work doing what we do best.
We do not blast emails, advertise or make social media posts of any kind during this campaign. We do make highly targeted phone calls and follow up with emails to those persons responsible for lateral partner hiring. Once we identify interested firms, we relay that information to you to see how or if you wish to proceed. We do all of this without ever identifying you.
Let’s face it, law firm attorneys typically become partners primarily due to their ability to bring revenue into their firm. In the case of equity partners, often significant revenue. Regardless of your practice area, your portable business is your biggest marketable asset. The best way to determine how to value that asset is to have conversations with other firms. Compensation is not always the primary reason partners move laterally to another firm, however, so our having a firm understanding of your motivations is critical for a positive outcome.
